PARTNER DESCRIPTION
Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) was founded in 1782, and it has been regarded as Hungary’s number one technical higher education institution for nearly 240 years. At the university’s 8 faculties and 76 departments, there are as many as 1,200 lecturers teaching 5,000 subjects and 10,000 courses each semester. With its regular high-ranking positions (between 200 and 800), BME is among the top universities (2-6%) globally. The Department of Polymer Engineering (BMEPT) belongs to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Thanks to its excellent researchers, the Department takes part in many domestic and international innovative R&D works in the field of materials science, material development, and the development of processing technologies. BMEPT also focuses on several different state-of-the-art topics to keep its diversity. Its specific topics are nanomaterials and nanofibers, innovative and lightweight composites, rubbers, injection molding and extrusion technologies, 3D printing, bio-based material development and polymer recycling. The Department has been certified by TÜV Rheinland for the ISO 9001 and 14001 quality assurance system. Its accredited laboratory has more than 100 pieces of equipment, from material preparation through material processing to complex materials testing.
