In the frame of capacity building various capacity building events will be organized, where the staff at FTPO and the interested researchers from other organizations in Slovenia and the broader region will benefit from the training provided by internationally leading experts in the field of polymer processing.

A series of 18 workshops will be organized, which will provide the team of the coordinating institution with increased knowledge and expertise on various topics. The workshops will consist of a theoretical and practical part; therefore they will be (co)organized at the location(s) of the beneficiary and associated partner institution(s) which has/have the highest know how and latest equipment necessary for the topic of a specific workshop. All four beneficiaries and one associated partner will contribute to the topics with their experts and their young researchers will attend the workshops. The impact of the events will be maximised by online streaming of the activities.

2nd IPPT_TWINN Summer school on Advanced Technologies in Injection Molding gathered more than 25 participants

In the week from 10th to 13th September 2024 the 2nd IPPT_TWINN Summer school on Advanced Technologies in Injection Molding took place on the premises of Faculty of Polymer Technology in Slovenj Gradec (Slovenia).

More that 25 Early-stage researchers, Master's, and Ph.D. students together with lecturers was provided with the theoretical and practical session by the lecturers from the most reputable and competent European institutions (IWK Institut für Werkstofftechnik und Kunststoffverarbeitung, Aitiip Centro Tecnologico, Polymer Competence Center Leoben (PCCL), Budapest University of Technology and Economics - BME).

The event presented and demonstrated modern trends in injection molding processes, specifically on back film and foaming injection molding, water and gas assisted injection molding and rubber injection molding.

Thursday's part covered theoretical backgrounds regarding virtual simulation of injection molding process, with emphasis on material data determination need for the precise simulations.

During the summer school the participants also visited the local companies OPS Breznik and Gumarstvo Šrajner and Hella Saturnus Slovenia 𝗱.𝗼.𝗼. in Ljubljana.

The participants were also provided with a cultural program, a guided tour of city Slovenj Gradec.
